Princess in Love

Princess in Love - Meg Cabot The third in the Princess Diaries series. I enjoyed this book. Mia was trying to become more like a princess. She was trying to get better in more ways than one, from grades to sticking up for herself. I especially enjoyed the ending. Onto the fourth book!

Reading Challenge

Every month, I try and take part in a reading challenge in some form, usually on the YA Buddy Reader's Corner group on Goodreads. This month and next month's  challenge is a series challenge.

I am hoping to finish the following in November/December:

  • The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
  • Heist Society by Ally Carter
  • Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
  • Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

I will update my progress soon!

Uncommon Criminals

Uncommon Criminals - Ally Carter **3.5 stars**
This book was a quick read like the first book. I did enjoy this book, but parts of it were really confusing. I'm going to read the third in the series to find out what other missions the crew accomplishes.

Dorothy Must Die

Dorothy Must Die - Danielle Paige I really enjoyed this book! It was a nice twist on the story we know and love. I connected with Amy and I thought she was an interesting character. I enjoyed the story line and each of the characters that came in/out of the story.

I have been wanting to read this book for awhile and I am glad that I finally got around to it. I want to read the next one now and I don't know how I am going to wait a month!

Blue Bloods

Blue Bloods - Melissa de la Cruz I enjoyed this book for the most part. Some of the parts were a bit boring and that would be why I rated this book a 4 and not a 5. I will be continuing on with this series to find out what happens between the Blue Bloods and the Silver Bloods. Onto book 2.

Rebel Belle

Rebel Belle - Rachel Hawkins I really liked this book. It had some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I could relate to Harper a lot except for the fact that I don't have "superpowers". I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. Can't wait to read the next book!

Shopaholic Ties the Knot

Shopaholic Ties the Knot - Sophie Kinsella I enjoyed this book! It always seems to work out for Becky. I know she wanted to make everyone happy, but most of the time it's hard to do. It's her wedding, she should do what she wants. I loved how she ended up having two weddings and making everyone happy. Onto the fourth!

Shopaholic Takes Manhattan

Shopaholic Takes Manhattan - Sophie Kinsella I liked this book as much as the first. It was a good second book. I liked seeing Rebecca find herself. She turned the negatives into positives and I admire that a bunch. Onto the third book!

The Princess Diaries

The Princess Diaries - Meg Cabot About 4.75 stars. Meg Cabot is one of my favorite authors and she didn't disappoint me with Princess Diaries. Of course I have seen the movie and it is one of my favorite movies. I know parts of the book and parts of the movie are completely different, but that didn't bother me. This series is a staple series. I will move onto the next book!

Gone

Gone - Michael Grant I really enjoyed this book. This book is very entertaining and kept me interested the whole way. The characters and the plot are unique. I enjoyed Michael Grant's writing style very much. I also love the countdown because it makes you wonder what is going to happen once it hits zero. I can't wait to read Hunger next!

Just One Day

Just One Day - Gayle Forman I have mixed feelings about this book. Sometimes I really enjoyed it and other times not so much. I related to a lot of the story. Of course I am a little more bias being into Language Arts/English.. The whole Shakespeare thing grabbed my attention. I will probably read the next book to see what happens.

Uglies

Uglies - Scott Westerfeld I really enjoyed this book. I found myself really liking the characters. It was very different from what I expected. I can't wait to read the next book!

Charlotte's Web

Charlotte's Web - E.B. White, Garth Williams, Rosemary Wells With it being fall I thought about reading this book. I love this book! I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. This is an awesome tale for children that I love! This book will always be a classic.

Significance (A Significance Novel)

Significance (A Significance Novel) - Shelly Crane (I received a free ecopy of the book from the publisher, Red Coat PR, via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.)

Maggie's mother ditched her and her father a year ago for no reason. Her father then retreated into himself and is absent in her life. She's been working a full time job at a diner on top of school to bring in money for her own clothes and food. After Maggie's graduation, she heads to her friend Kyle's house. On the way she meets a man named Caleb, who happens to be Kyle's cousin. He nearly gets hit by a truck and Maggie saves him. She ends up imprinting with Caleb. It turns out Kyle's family isn't human.

I would say that the one thing that bothered me was the pacing. Some parts seemed too slow while others seemed too quick.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Maggie and Caleb. I am normally not a fan of insta-love, but I liked this one. Maggie saved his life and now she becomes his soulmate. Again, I enjoyed the romance in this book.

This book reminded me of Twilight and also Prince of Wolves that I just finished reading. I can't wait to see where this story goes!

The Husband's Secret

The Husband's Secret - Liane Moriarty It took me awhile to get into this book. The beginning was a bit slow for me, but once I got into it the book was great. I enjoyed the characters and how they all connected. Just to think that this was all about a letter in the beginning.. That wasn't even the half of it.
